Your Role:

Manufacture or evaluate products according to established protocols, provide technical support to others and perform operations in support of the group, department, and other St. Louis sites with highest need.

  • Flexibility of training and supporting manufacturing operations across St. Louis sites.
  • Safely perform operations to meet quality expectations.
  • Ensure quality throughout the process.
  • Assure you are adequately trained to perform tasks/assignments.
  • Perform multi-disciplined, established processes, assays and/or unit
  • operations, primarily those requiring a higher level of skill and knowledge.
  • Clean-up equipment and working areas during and after operations.
  • Complete the volume of work required to achieve group/departmental goals
  • and meet deadlines.
  • Contribute to support functions of the lab (e.g., maintain equipment, prepare
  • reagents, restock lab supplies, waste disposal).
  • Communicate the status of operations and bring deviations to the attention of
  • supervisor.
  • Provide a complete and accurate batch record at the conclusion of production
  • operations consistent with quality guidelines including Non-Conformance
  • Reports (NCR) if applicable.
  • Complete quality investigations in compliance with quality standards and
  • guidelines.
  • Write and modify production procedures consistent with quality guidelines.
  • Provide complete and accurate records consistent with quality guidelines.
  • Ensure all applicable log books have been filled out completely as required by
  • current procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments.
  • Participate as needed in quality audits.
  • Train manufacturing personnel and act as a technical consultant as needed. Perform and interpret analytical evaluations of products and intermediates.
  • Supply information based on experience and knowledge.
  • Accurately perform procedure independently.
  • Identify problems and limitations of analysis.
  • Perform routine troubleshooting.
  • Review of final assays and procedures.
  • Interface with external customers.
  • Work in compliance with change control procedures, improve processes through
  • application of scientific knowledge, experience, and principles.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement.

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering or related Life Science Bachelor's Degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry
  • 1 year of Independent lab research or industrial experience desired.
  • Knowledge in chemistry or biochemistry, math and general science. Familiar with laboratory instruments and production equipment.
  • Knowledge of analytical techniques and analytical equipment, safe chemical handling, and scientific method.
  • Knowledge of Process techniques and unit operations.
  • May require shift work.
  • PC/Computer Skills required along with troubleshooting and organizational skills.
  • Computer skills and troubleshooting experience a must.
  • Familiar with quality management systems and how they apply to manufacturing.
  • Must be able to perform tasks while wearing personal protective equipment such as respirator or chemical protective clothing for extended times.

Travel will be required between St. Louis area sites.
