We are one of the leading DNA analysis laboratories in the country and our Research and Development department is breaking ground on new frontiers in the genetics sciences. This position is Responsible for data entry for relationship tests, making kits, answering phones and assisting with general office duties including filing, closing cases, preparing reports and document retrieval.

Work Schedule: Day Shift, Monday through Friday. This is a full-time role
Work Restrictions: Because of vital nature of this work, we do not allow medical marijuana cards and we do random drug testing on all of our employees.
Reports to Laboratory Director
Minimum Qualifications...
- A Master's degree (at a minimum) in biology, chemistry, forensic science, or a related area.
- Successful completion of at least 12 credit hours (graduate or undergraduate) covering subject areas including biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, statistics, and statistics and/or population genetics.
- Sufficient experience in Forensic DNA analysis to recognize possible errors in performance or interpretation, including a minimum of three (3) years of DNA analysis experience.
Position Responsibilities...
- Administrative management of all laboratory and support staff.
- Managing the daily operations of the laboratory, including ordering of supplies and reagents.
- Has authority, in conjunction with the Laboratory Director, for overseeing the hiring and firing of all personnel.
- Oversight of facility maintenance.
- Insuring that casework is processed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Has the authority to assign laboratory casework and duties.
- Available to review and approve case reports prior to their release.
- Available to provide testimony as a court qualified expert.
- Has the authority to speak directly to clients regarding their case processed at the laboratory.
- Available to laboratory personnel as a resource for training, problem solving, and questions as needed.
- Responsible for remaining up-to-date with current methods and procedures in order to advise the laboratory in that regard.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Physical Demands...
This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
