We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Control Technician to join our team in ensuring the
highest standards of workmanship and safety in the assembly, installation, and finishing of commercial truck
equipment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting and verifying the integrity, functionality, and
compliance of upfitted trucks, accessories, and custom-built equipment prior to customer delivery.
Applicant must have a strong work ethic and be a self-starter in order to join our team.
This is a get down and crawl under the truck to make sure everything is done right job, not a pencil whipping position.
Specific job responsibilities include:
* Perform inspections of truck builds and installed equipment (e.g., bodies, cranes, hoists, toolboxes,
hydraulic systems, electrical components, etc.)
* Verify that installations meet company standards, manufacturer specifications, and DOT/OSHA regulations
* Use inspection tools (e.g., tape measures, calipers, checklists, diagnostic tools) to ensure precise quality
* Document findings and maintain detailed inspection reports
* Communicate defects or non-conformities to production leads and work collaboratively on corrective actions
* Conduct final walk-throughs before delivery to ensure all customer specifications are met
* Assist in developing and refining quality control procedures and checklists
* Provide feedback to supervisors on recurring issues or areas for process improvement
* Maintain a safe and organized inspection area and adhere to safety protocols
Skills Required:
*Proven experience in truck body installation or a related field.
*Experience working with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
*Ability to use a range of hand and power tools.
*Experience MIG welding is a plus
*Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
*Strong problem-solving skills.
*Strong communication skills to liaise with colleagues and sales team.
*Strong focus on safety at all times.
Requirements:
*Technical or vocational training in a related field is desirable.
*ASE Certification is a plus.
*Previous experience in a related field is an advantage.
*Must have own tools.
*Ability to work long hours in an outside open-air shop.
*Must be able to safely lift a minimum of 50lbs.
*Ability to stoop, bend over, climb ladders and stand for long periods of time.
* High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certifications in automotive or
mechanical fields a plus
* 2+ years of experience in quality control, automotive, truck equipment, or a related field
* Experience with commercial vehicle upfitting, truck equipment, and hydraulic/electrical
systems
* Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
* Proficient in reading technical drawings, build sheets, and equipment manuals
* Excellent communication and documentation skills
* Basic computer skills for entering reports and using inspection software
Preferred Qualifications:
* ASE Certification or equivalent experience in vehicle maintenance or inspection
* Knowledge of FMVSS, DOT, and OSHA safety standards
* Experience using digital inspection tools or quality management systems (QMS)
