Position Description
Pay Grade: Coordinator 8
This position is is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations, maintenance, safety, and instructional readiness of multiple instructional lab environments, including advanced manufacturing, robotics, and skilled trades. This role supports teaching and learning by ensuring equipment is operational, labs are safe and organized, and faculty and students have the resources they need for high-impact instruction. The Laboratory Manager also plays a key role in supporting the planning and implementation of future lab expansions and new equipment installations.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong working knowledge of industrial safety protocols and maintenance best practices
Familiarity with robotics fault-resetting and routine setup
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with faculty and staff
Proficiency with basic software tools (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook)
Clear, professional communication skills-written and verbal
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and follow-through
Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree in a related field and Three years relevant experience in one or more of the lab disciplines
or
Bachelor's Degree and One year of relevant experience in one or more of the lab disciplines
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related technical field
Experience with Amatrol, FANUC, Siemens, or ABB automation systems
Prior work experience in an academic lab or industry environment
OSHA 10 or 30 certification or equivalent safety training
Experience supervising workers or interns
