Job Description

As a chemist in this role, you will be responsible for conducting gas tests to ensure products meet specific standards. You will utilize chromatography, GC, FTIR, infrared detectors, and specialized chemical testers to establish challenge concentrations for filters and adsorbents. Your expertise will be crucial in identifying breakthroughs by measuring specified effluent concentrations significantly lower than the challenge concentration.

Responsibilities

• Conduct gas tests using chromatography, GC, FTIR, and infrared detectors.
• Establish challenge concentrations for filters and adsorbents.
• Identify breakthroughs by measuring specified effluent concentrations.
• Control temperature and humidity within the pressurized cylinder during gas exposure.
• Monitor the 'challenge' to maintain gas within the correct temperature and humidity zone.
• Utilize equipment such as GC and Flame Ion Detectors to assess gas concentration.
• Formulate safety procedures and ensure safe practices in laboratory settings.
• Run control samples to ensure accuracy and reliability of tests.

• Proficiency in Chemistry and Laboratory techniques.
• Expertise in Analytical Chemistry, FTIR, and GC.
• Experience with Wet Chemistry and Chromatography.

This position is based in a chemistry lab, operating Monday to Friday, with every other Friday off.

The work hours are from 6 AM to 3 PM, totaling 45 hours one week and 36 hours the next, amounting to 81 hours over the course of two weeks.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
