Job Description
Join a collaborative, innovation-driven analytics team committed to advancing the discovery and development of next-generation therapeutic antibodies. We are seeking a Scientist with deep expertise in mass spectrometry-based characterization of complex biologics within a cross-disciplinary environment. This laboratory-focused position plays a key role in supporting analytical workflows and driving the development of innovative biologics.
You will work closely with protein engineering, protein sciences, data modeling, and discovery project teams to deliver critical analytical insights that inform decision-making across early discovery programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform LC-MS and LC-MS/MS analyses to determine molecular identity, evaluate stability, and characterize post-translational modifications (PTMs) of therapeutic proteins.
Independently operate, maintain, and troubleshoot a range of mass spectrometry platforms (e.g., QTOF, Orbitrap, QQQ).
Design and optimize analytical workflows using complementary separation-based technologies (e.g., SEC-MALS, CE-SDS, HIC, mass photometry) to enhance data quality, throughput, and reproducibility.
Develop or refine automated sample preparation and analysis workflows to support growing discovery pipelines.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze data and communicate findings in a clear, concise, and impactful manner.
Contribute to assay development, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of analytical methods.
Maintain accurate and thorough documentation and contribute to scientific reports
Qualifications:
Degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biophysics, or a related field:
- BS with 5+ years of relevant experience
- MS with 3+ years
- PhD with 12 years in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology environmentStrong hands-on experience with mass spectrometry-based techniques for biologics characterization.
Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting various MS platforms such as QTOF, Orbitrap, and QQQ instruments.
Experience with complementary analytical techniques such as CE-SDS, SEC-MALS, HIC, and mass photometry.
Demonstrated ability to interpret complex MS data and effectively communicate results to multidisciplinary teams.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Experience with automated analytical workflows and data processing pipelines is highly desirable.
Proficiency in data visualization and statistical analysis tools is a plus.
Familiarity with SampleStream or RapidFire platforms for high-throughput analysis is a plus.
The starting compensation for this job is a range from $135,170 - $163,800, plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility).
The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and where the job is performed. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
