As a Senor Scientist within our Global Assay Development Organization, you'll be an integral part of Bio-Rad's world class global R&D capability - focusing on multiplex immunoassay technology of cutting-edge in-vitro diagnostics systems. Working closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams, you'll maintain and expand our core diagnostics platforms. You'll also work in an exciting new product roadmap that supports our ambitious clinical diagnostics strategy, drive long term growth for the company, and propel healthcare into the future. Specifically this position will focus on the Biologics needed to calibrate Bio-Rad's multiplex assays.

How You'll Make An Impact:

The successful candidate will work with R&D on New Product Development Transfer and Support of Product/Process Design.

  • Leading technical projects aimed to address performance and manufacturability of BioPlex multiplex immunoassays. Provide technical leadership, design strategies, generate study plans to validate manufacturing process for new product development projects. Specialize in the biologics needed for Calibrators, Controls, and QC release panels.
  • Provide direction to Research Scientists and/or Research Associates in carrying out their laboratory experiments
  • Act as a technical consultant on cross-functional projects or programs. Enable cross functional collaboration with MSAT, QC, manufacturing, marketing, QA (Quality Assurance) and RA (Regulatory Assurance) teams. Provide technical expertise to the manufacturing team, participate in the troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Workstream include: biologic qualification, document creation/revision including elements of Design History File(s), costing in SAP, assisting with regulatory submissions, investigation of Quality Notifications for nonconformance and deviations from standard process.
  • Participate in functional and cross-functional training to advance technical capabilities.

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor's, Master's, PhD, or equivalent acceptable with sufficient academic or industrial postgraduate experience in a relevant field.
  • 8+ years of experience related to the targeted area of technical expertise (experience depends on education level).
  • Experience in biologic development including Design Control process for FDA/IVDR in immunology or related products is strongly desired.
  • Experience with bead based multiplexing technology is a plus with a strong continuous improvement mentality to streamline technology transfers from R&D to Mfg/QC operations.
  • Excellent data analytics - Excel, MiniTab, Power BI, etc, with SAP experience a plus.
  • Strong team leader who has a proven track record of leading / collaborating on teams in a matrixed environment, self-motivated with a strong work ethic with effective written and oral communication skills.

Compensation: The estimated annual salary for this position is $113,000 to $155,200 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
