Amazon Web Services is looking for an experienced software development engineer with a passion for high-performance packet processing and data plane operations. This role is at the heart of AWS networking infrastructure, working on critical systems that enable secure and efficient network connectivity at scale.

Key job responsibilities
- Design and implement high-performance packet processing systems
- Optimize network data plane operations for maximum throughput and minimal latency
- Develop and maintain low-level networking code dealing with packet encapsulation, routing, and forwarding
- Troubleshoot complex networking issues at the packet level
- Implement and optimize network security features
- Participate in on-call rotations to support production systems

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with DPDK or similar network acceleration framework
- Knowledge of network virtualization technologies
- Background in network security
- Experience with high-performance computing
- Understanding of AWS networking services
- Track record of delivering large-scale networking solutions
