Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-focused Laboratory Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting a variety of analytical tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and final products to ensure compliance with internal specifications and industry standards. This role involves working with a range of laboratory instrumentation and software systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Job Description

  • Following standard operating procedures (SOPs) to test raw materials, in-process, and finished goods samples.
  • Calculate and record test results on worksheets, report forms, and in Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
  • Interpret routine laboratory results and notify Laboratory Supervision of questionable results.
  • Hazardous waste management activities, managing the accumulation, labeling, inspection and storage of hazardous waste generated by the Laboratory. Basic emergency response as it applies to laboratory hazardous waste spills.
  • Observe all safety rules and regulations in the plant and laboratory areas and participate in all EHS programs at the site.
  • Conduct a variety of other functions necessary of a Quality Technician to maintain effective and efficient plant operations. Work shift schedule or overtime, as required, or upon assignment.

Skills Required

  • Prior experience with wet chemistry and analytical instrumentation preferred
  • Willing to consider recent graduates (within 12 mos) with no experience.
  • 0-3 years of laboratory experience, or equivalent experience, preferably in a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) environment.
  • General knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment, including wet and analytical chemistry.
  • Knowledge of GMP, ISO 9001, RCMS, and European Federation of Cosmetic Ingredients (EFfCI) standards a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to work in team environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft word and Excel.
  • Shift: M-F 7 AM - 3:30 PM

Education

  • BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related field

Additional Requirements

  • Experience with SAP and LabWare a plus.
