Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine sampling for chemical testing and visual/dimensional evaluations of packaging components.
  • Assist with making solutions, routine chemical testing and visual/dimensional evaluations by internally developed and compendial test methods.
  • Perform validated test methods for pharmaceutical packaging components by traditional quantitative analysis, using UV and IR spectroscopy, and/or traditional wet chemical testing.
  • Recognize and report out-of-specification or unexpected results and non-routine analytical and product problems.
  • Perform daily instrument calibrations / verifications as required.
  • Clearly and accurately communicates the results of work by drafting documentation of the testing/analysis and obtained results. Record and report results of analysis in accordance with prescribed lab procedures and systems.
  • Assist in preparing regulatory documents and other communications with outside agencies, clients, suppliers and/or colleagues from other corporate sites.
  • Participate in the writing of SOPs if needed.
  • Clean and organize work area, instrumentation, and testing materials.
  • Drive a forklift in a warehouse pulling pallets down for sampling from containers.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Associate degree is minimally required, preferably in a Chemistry or Biology related field
  • Bachelors degree in physical science, preferably in Chemistry or Biology would be a plus.

Experience:

  • Typically requires no previous related experience, however chemical or biology procedure experience preferred.
  • Experience performing chemical tests with chromatographic, spectroscopic or other analytical technique preferred.
  • Experience driving a forklift preferred.

Equivalency:

  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered with an Associate degree.
