JOB SUMMARY
The Quality Control Chemist III will be responsible for analyzing and making determinations as to the quality of a product, using analytical equipment pertinent to the appropriate application of skills. This position provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable and consistent with organization objectives. Works under only general direction.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analysis of bulk chemicals, pharmaceutical compounds, and environmental monitoring samples which require a comprehensive knowledge of chemistry or microbiology and laboratory techniques.
- Compilation of data obtained from analytical tests, analysis of the data, and reporting of results to appropriate departments.
- May perform acceptance or release of lot.
- General housekeeping including maintaining general cleanliness of laboratories and restocking reagents and laboratory consumables.
- Conduct review of peer data.
- Maintain a through and neat laboratory notebook.
- May be responsible for communicating status and timing of analytical testing to internal clients.
- May lead investigations of laboratory samples and help determine appropriate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address mitigation of investigation assignable cause.
- May be involved in interfacing with customer at times.
- May mentor lower-level chemists/scientists and laboratory technicians, as required.
- May act as primary department representative in integrated product team (IPT) meetings.

REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor degree Chemistry, Microbiology or Related Field required.
- Five years directly related technical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
