The Hayes Lab within the Department of Molecular and Medical Pharmacology, David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, is recruiting for an open-rank Project Scientist to participate in lung cancer biology investigation.
Candidates are expected to have extensive experience in lung cancer biology. The candidate is expected to have significant technical and practical knowledge in cell culture, which includes cell line generation from patient samples, organoids, transductions, lentiviral infections, and general tissue culture experience with human and mouse cell lines. The candidate should have experience with in vitro assays to measure cell viability, colony formation, gene and protein expression, and microscopy. Experience working with mouse models is also required. Moreover, the candidate should have considerable expertise in in vivo profiling of blood and tissue pharmacokinetics.
To meet the Hayes Lab's distinct and growing needs, the successful candidate will be responsible for the management of in vitro and in vivo preclinical analyses, while supervising and managing students, post-doctoral researchers and research technicians.

Candidates must have a PhD in Pharmacology, Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology or a related discipline, and documented experience in lung cancer biology. The candidate must have experience involving standard molecular biology techniques including protein biochemical methods and cell culture. Diverse phenotypic and mechanistic assays applied to lung cancer are highly desirable. Previous experience in teaching at university-level or student/staff supervision will be considered an asset.
Candidate must also document ability to evaluate proposed investigational projects, in vitro and in vivo. The successful candidate must have a track record of publications in high-impact journals (first or co-first author) within the field of expertise.
