This position is located at our Plano Global R&D facility and is part of the Measurement Sciences (Analytical & QA Sciences) team. The focus is on Foods Forensics analytical support and flavor shelf life analysis.
Responsibilities- Provide technical solutions to solve forensics cases by utilizing analytical research and forensic technologies.
- Conduct forensics research projects including hypothesis and DOE.
- Capture documentation & data into laboratory information management system (LIMS) for forensic historical tracking and chain of custody.
- Collaborate with legal, regulatory affairs, product development, operations, consumer relations and analytical partners on forensics issues as they arise.
- Manage R&D shelf-life requests and conduct analysis according to established protocols, as well as participate in the review and development of new shelf-life methods.
- Perform lab tests in a timely, accurate, and cost-effective manner with minimal supervision.
- Coordinate the testing of samples leveraging internal and external capabilities.
- Stay current in area of expertise and area of project related research by reading and interpreting scientific literature and IP, and actively engage with relevant external scientific organizations.
- Collaborate with global Measurement Sciences colleagues to ensure alignment and consistency across processes and practices.
- Demonstrate adherence to site Health & Safety and Good Laboratory Practice policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation and assure the reliability of measurement systems by using appropriate GLP.
Compensation and Benefits:
- The expected compensation range for this position is between $64,300 - $107,650.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Food Science, or related discipline with 2+ years’ experience in a laboratory environment. Experience in the Food and Beverage industry is preferred.
- Experience with gas chromatography mass spec (GC-MS) analysis.
- Experience with headspace analysis and method development for GC-MS.
- Experience with industry reference methods is preferred.
- LIMS experience is preferred.
- Understanding of the chemistry of food and flavors with experience in shelf-life analysis.
- Knowledge and experience of analytical chemistry techniques, instrumentation, and statistics.
- Highly developed critical thinking skills required to solve technical problems utilizing standard research methodology.
- Ability to communicate confidently and effectively in a timely manner in presentations and emails.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and able to organize complex data to make clear technical recommendations.
- Sound understanding of Experimental Design.
- Demonstrate strong personal initiative and ability to work both individually and in a cross-functional team environment.
- Able to learn and share new techniques and adapt to new ways of working.
- Able to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
- Able to handle a fast-paced and constantly changing work environment.
- Travel up to 20% as needed.
