Summary of Job Duties: The Hossain Lab at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a motivated Research Associate to support innovative research focused on developing novel immunotherapies for solid cancers. Working under the general supervision of the Principal Investigator, the Research Associate will assist with experiment design, execution, and data analysis.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree PLUS five (5) years of research experience required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
An understanding of principles of biology, pharmacology, and physiology
Proficient in handling laboratory animals and in performing surgical and non-surgical animal procedures
Proficient in preparing and maintaining cell cultures, and in experimental methods commonly used in immunology, microbiology, and molecular biology (Western blot, PCR, flow cytometry, processing tissue for histopathology, adenoviral transfections, etc).
Computer skills for word processing, data management, biostatistics, and scientific presentation
Ability to perform literature research, simple statistical analyses, scientific presentation, and other tasks aimed at refining ongoing protocols, summarizing interim and final results, and developing new research protocols

Responsibilities:
Conduct laboratory research focused on the lymphatics project, including performing molecular biology techniques (e.g., RNA/protein isolation, gene/protein expression analysis), tissue and cell culture, flow cytometry, microscopy, and in vivo tumor model studies.
Prepare scientific documents such as research progress reports, manuscripts for publication, and patent applications.
Perform other duties as assigned, including assisting with general lab operations and supporting collaborative research efforts.
