Our client, a leader in the research and development sector, is seeking a LAB Research Chemist/Physicist/Engineer II to join their team. As a LAB Research Chemist/Physicist/Engineer II, you will be part of a dynamic team supporting innovative product development. **Job Title:** LAB Research Chemist/Physicist/Engineer II
**Location:** Maplewood, MN
**Pay Range:** $26 per hour
**What's the Job?**
+ Prepare routine and novel samples for analysis via SEM and AFM using ultramicrotomy, ion milling, and other conventional techniques.
+ Operate SEM and AFM equipment to collect data and perform basic image processing and data analysis.
+ Organize generated data into clear and communicable reports to support product development engineers.
+ Conduct physical property and optical testing/characterization, along with sample preparation.
+ Adapt to varying shifts, primarily 1st shift, with occasional day, afternoon, or midnight shifts as needed.
**What's Needed?**
+ Knowledge and experience with high-resolution SEM imaging of various materials (e.g., metals, silicon, polymers).
+ Experience operating AFM, optimizing scans for non-routine samples, and performing routine maintenance.
+ Familiarity with SEM and AFM sample preparation techniques such as ultramicrotomy and ion milling.
+ Proficiency in programming languages or image analysis software (e.g., ImageJ, Python, Matlab).
+ Strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
