Genomics Senior Research Associate - Contract - San Deigo, CA

Proclinical is seeking a Research Associate to support the development and optimization of genomics workflows.

Primary Responsibilities:

This role involves integrating novel genomics pipelines into broader operational networks, standardizing processes, and driving efficiency in research and development efforts. You will play a key role in maintaining instrumentation, optimizing assays, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project milestones.

Skills & Requirements:

Academic background in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, biotechnology, or a related field.

Hands-on experience with Illumina NGS platforms.

Proficiency in molecular biology techniques, including nucleic acid extraction, quality control (QC), RT-PCR, and cloning.

Expertise in NGS library preparation and QC.

Experience with reagent validation, protocol optimization, and troubleshooting.

Familiarity with sequencing platforms such as MiSeq, NextSeq, and Nanopore Sequencing.

Hands-on experience with single-cell genomics assays.

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in maintaining electronic lab notebooks (ELNs).

Bonus: Experience with spatial genomics technologies, histology workflows, automation platforms, or working with human/animal tissue samples.

The Genomics Senior Research Associate's responsibilities will be:

Provide daily operational support for genomics instrumentation and service pipelines.

Assist in planning expansions for genomics workflow infrastructure, instrumentation, and assay pipelines.

Develop, optimize, implement, and standardize advanced genomics pipelines.

Maintain accurate and detailed digital records, including electronic lab notebook (ELN) entries.

Communicate effectively about current workflows and progress.

Collaborate with genomics team members, researchers, and scientific operations teams to identify support needs and achieve project goals.

Compensation:

$50 to $60 per hour
