As Senior Data Scientist you will take a leadership role in identifying and prioritizing the department's and organization's data analysis needs, and offer and execute innovative approaches to developing new products and insights. Reporting to the Director, Data Science, you will also work cross-functionally to acquire and synthesize data in order to understand both internal and external analytic and product development goals. How You'll Make An Impact Our test results and recommendations help consumers make critical and informed buying decisions, sometimes influencing companies to improve their products to meet our high standards. In this position, your insights will be used to help us offer our members the best experience for finding the information they need to make smart and safe decisions. On a daily basis, you may: Understand, identify and prioritize organizational product and solutions needs and assess their feasibility given available internal and external data sources. Offer innovative approaches to data collection, synthesis and analysis to best meet internal and external client needs and priorities. Develop enterprise-wide data platforms that maximize CR's ability to use and share data. Lead cross-divisional teams to collect, aggregate, and analyze data from multiple internal and external sources to develop advanced products and solutions. Work across business, research and testing teams to establish, reinforce, and adhere to consistent data analysis standards, adhering to CR's commitment to rigor, objectivity, and quality. Identify opportunities for new and expanded use of existing data to meet internal and external client needs and maintain CR's position as a leader in product ratings and consumer insights. ABOUT YOU You'll Be Highly Rated If: You have the credentials. You have a Master's Degree in statistics, information science, math, physics or a related field OR 7 years of relevant experience. You understand consumers. You have at least six years of experience in applied data science with a focus on consumer data product and solutions development. You are deadline oriented. You have demonstrated the ability to meet deadlines and deliver fully executed solutions and products in client-driven settings. You are data driven. You have the ability to apply appropriate data analysis techniques including predictive modeling and regression, and demonstrated understanding of advanced statistical topics such as experimental design and linear models. You can turn insights into action. You have strong data wrangling skills, feature modeling, and experience cleaning and optimizing text data for analysis. It is expected that most qualified candidates will fall near the middle of the posted salary range. We have three locations: Yonkers, NY, Washington, DC and Colchester, CT.
