Make a difference in drug discovery through hands-on histology work
Are you passionate about histology and eager to contribute to cutting-edge drug discovery? Whether you're just starting your career or looking to expand your expertise, Gubra offers an exciting opportunity to grow and make an impact.
We're looking for a Laboratory Technician to join our Histology Department, supporting both internal and partnered preclinical drug discovery projects.
About the Histology Department
Our Histology team plays a pivotal role in Gubra's drug discovery efforts by developing and applying a broad spectrum of tissue-based technologies. Our mission is to deliver high-quality data while continuously integrating new technologies to drive innovation.
The team consists of seven scientists and five laboratory technicians who collaborate closely across departments.
Your Role: Versatile and hands-on
As a Laboratory Technician, you'll be at the heart of our preclinical research, generating high-quality histopathological data. You'll work closely with scientists and technicians across multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where new technologies and methods are constantly being adopted.
Key responsibilities:
- Perform and optimize histological workflows: tissue embedding, sectioning (FFPE and Cryo), and staining (H&E, IHC, RNAscope, specialized stains)
- Develop and validate new staining and multiplexing protocols for advanced tissue analysis and biomarker discovery
- Conduct routine and advanced histological procedures, including antibody testing, image acquisition, and digital slide scanning
- Collaborate on study planning, including time/cost estimates, sample logistics, and coordination with project managers and external partners
- Maintain lab equipment and uphold safety and quality procedures
- This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys tackling technical challenges, and is driven by the opportunity to contribute to meaningful scientific progress- across a broad spectrum of innovative research projects, particularly in areas such as obesity, diabetes, and MASH.
What we're looking for
You're a team player who values open communication and shared success. You're curious, detail-oriented, and eager to learn. Whether you're new to the field or bring years of experience, we'll support your growth and development.
Ideally, you:
- Hold a certified laboratory technician diploma or equivalent
- Have experience or interest in advanced histology methods (e.g., multiplex IHC, multi-omics, automation)
- Are familiar with tissue processing (FFPE and OCT) and pathology staining
- Communicate effectively in both Danish and English.
Why join Gubra?
- Become part of a supportive and collaborative team where great colleagues and a strong sense of teamwork make all the difference.
- Work in an environment that values your ideas and initiative.
- Make a real impact in a field that matters, with room to grow and develop your skills

Gubra is an ambitious contract research organisation (CRO) and biotech company striving for excellence at all levels. We insist on doing things efficiently - and often differently - to reach the results we aim for. Our vision is to become leaders in the fight for a more sustainable and healthier world. We do that by facilitating the discovery of new medicine, and by acting and inspiring others to fight the ongoing climate and biodiversity crises.
Gubra's activities are focused on the early stages of drug development and are organised in two highly synergistic business areas: CRO Services and Discovery & Partnerships (D&P). We generate our revenue by performing research for life science companies as well as by partnering projects from our discovery and development pipeline.
Our therapeutic focus is within metabolic and fibrotic diseases, and we specialize in in vivo pharmacology, ex vivo assays, drug profiling, histology, stereology and whole brain and organ imaging. In addition, we offer a full palette of advanced transcriptomics. Our ML/AI-driven peptide drug discovery platform streaMLine enables us to rapidly develop a peptide hit into a non-clinical candidate ready for development. Through a constant focus on high quality, scientific excellence, speed, and solid teamwork we have established ourselves as a highly professional and competent partner in the market.
People are our greatest asset, and our team consists of +270 employees all located in Hrsholm, Denmark.
