Position Summary

The Quality Control Specialist plays a key role in ensuring that incoming shipments of dietary supplements, household items, and cosmetic products meet quality and regulatory standards. This position supports the integrity of our product offerings by verifying compliance with specifications and internal requirements, primarily on the marketing and distribution side of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect incoming shipments to ensure conformity with Purchase Orders and established quality standards.
  • Release products for distribution upon successful quality verification.
  • Enter inspection data accurately into internal quality control databases.
  • Coordinate and prioritize inspection activities in alignment with the Purchasing and Warehouse departments.
  • Review and verify manufacturers' Certificates of Analysis (CoAs) for accuracy and completeness.
  • Monitor and document product stability protocols; maintain and update ongoing stability study data.
  • Track and manage product labeling changes to ensure compliance and version control.
  • Oversee quarantine program, complete and file quarantine documentation, track hold, release and destruction of quarantine materials.
  • Support environmental monitoring program.
  • Support finished product Safety Data Sheet Generation for customs and PIFs.
  • Assist with other initiatives as directed by the Quality Control Manager.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Follow all internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform additional tasks or special projects as assigned by management.

Supervision:

  • This role does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Education:

  • An associate or bachelors degree in a scientific discipline (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, or a related field).

Experience:

  • Prior quality control experience in the dietary supplement, pharmaceutical or food manufacturing industries is beneficial but not required; training will be provided.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents, including CoAs and stability data.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Comfortable working in a cross-functional team environment.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to intermittently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 lbs.
  • Frequent use of hands and arms for data entry and inspection tasks.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and computer usage.
  • Occasional standing, walking, bending, or reaching as needed.
  • Work is performed in a warehouse/office environment with moderate temperature and noise levels.
