The team is also open to recent graduates with an associate or bachelor's degree in Chemistry.
The contractor will be working on a woodshop project within a wet lab setting. A candidate who can work independently and has prior experience with similar projects is highly preferred.
Consumer Business Group - Home Improvement CW Lab Support
Lab Research Chemist/Physicist/Engineer I:
We are currently seeking a motivated Laboratory Research Chemist/Physicist/Engineer to join our Home Improvement Consumer Products lab team. As a Lab Research Chemist/Physicist/Engineer, you will play a crucial role in conducting various tests and experiments to ensure the quality and safety of our consumer products. This is a full-time, in-person position, at the *** Center.
Worker performs physical and/or mechanical analyses and tests required for research, development, or quality control of processes and products. This position will support a wide range of products and applications, so the worker will need to be a fast learner and able to work both on a small team and independently.
This person will be responsible for but not limited to the following specific duties:
Prepare materials and organize for product testing.
Assist in laboratory experiments through formulation work, testing, and evaluation of new materials and products based on research.
Perform mechanical performance tests required for research, development, or quality control of processes and products.
Conduct hands-on tests with multiple pieces of equipment, including wet lab work involving pH meters, viscometers, etc., and wood shop related activities.
Test or make visual observations on product samples, then document and communicate test results.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or hands on experience with wet labs
Basic chemistry knowledge and experience, particularly in wet lab environments
Able to work 8-4 M-F on site
Experience using Excel and Word
Good attention to detail and ability to work independently
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong organizational skills, self-motivated, and results driven
Solid interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
Prior laboratory or manufacturing experience
Proven ability to problem-solve and implement solutions
Ability to take instructions (verbal and written) and complete a task with little or no supervision as an independent worker
Top Must-Haves:
Worker must have excellent observations skills (attention to detail), strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently. They must be able to adapt and adjust to the team's needs
