Quality Control Technician

This role is responsible for conducting both physical and analytical testing of raw materials, in-process products, and final packaged goods to ensure they meet defined quality standards. The position plays a vital role in upholding product integrity, safety, and compliance through precise laboratory work and timely reporting. Excellent communication, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.

Overtime may be required, including extended shifts until 8:00AM, early morning coverage, and weekends depending on operational demands

Responsibilities:
Conduct sampling of raw materials, in-process products, and final goods for laboratory analysis.
Measure key product characteristics (e.g., moisture content, hardness factor, color) on raw materials, process samples, and packaged goods.
Operate Gas Chromatography (GC) and Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AA) equipment.
Analyze raw materials, process batches, final products, and external samples.
Prepare testing standards for process and final products.
Conduct pre-sample preparation for lab analysis.
Complete necessary pre-processing steps for analytical equipment.
Perform daily checks and routine maintenance on lab instruments.
Accurately record test results.
Maintain all required records and lab logs.
Notify management promptly of any non-conforming or defective results.
Work cooperatively with other lab personnel to meet daily testing and quality control objectives.
Perform other lab-related responsibilities as assigned by supervisors.

Working hours: 8:00 PM - 5:00 AM

Skills:
Post-secondary education in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, or a Laboratory Technician program preferred (not required).

High School

Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
Prior experience in a chemical, laboratory, or manufacturing environment
Basic knowledge of laboratory safety and measurement practices (training provided).
Willingness to learn lab instruments and testing procedures.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow protocols.
Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Must be able to Read, Write and Speak English
Basic computer literacy, including data entry and spreadsheet usage.

This position has a lot of overtime required.
