  • Scientist III, Biomaterials shall work on advancing the field of medical aesthetics and biologics through innovative biomaterials development. Working under general supervision, the role focuses on the creation of next-generation biomaterials and localized delivery systems for biologics.
  • The responsibilities span the science and engineering of polymers including their design, synthesis, modification, fabrication, and characterization, as well as prototype formulation (injectable hydrogels, particles, implants) and process development.
  • Lead and actively participate in planning experimental studies aimed at developing novel biomaterials and biologics.
  • Conduct experimental studies related to the synthesis, formulation, fabrication, and characterization of advanced biomaterials and prototypes.
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data to derive conclusions and propose actionable technical recommendations to propel project progress.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional R&D teams to achieve shared project goals through joint experimental studies.
  • Engage in and present at project team meetings to discuss project activities, review completed tasks, and assess technical progress.
  • Contribute to the writing of technical reports, memoranda, and documents for both internal and external dissemination.
  • M.S. (with 2+ yeas experience) or B.S. (with 6+ years experience) in Biomaterials Science, Biomedical engineering, Polymer Chemistry, Materials Engineering, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, or related fields.
  • Possess technical competence and expertise in Biomaterials Science (e.g., polymer synthesis, cross-linked/modified polymers, hydrogels, biomaterial-tissue interfaces, polymer fabrication processes, drug delivery systems)
  • Key expertise: Polymer synthesis, purification, and modifications including bio-conjugation; formulation.
  • Analytical skills: NMR, HPLC, SEC-MALS, mechanical testing.
  • Preferred experience with biomaterials and/or biologics related to medical device and drug delivery systems.
  • Data presentation and collaboration
  • Proficient in presenting information and responding to inquiries from groups of managers and technical peers.
  • Skilled in presenting facts and recommendations both orally and in writing.
  • Effective at interfacing with employees across various levels and departments to foster collaborative outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
