Nalco Water, an Ecolab Company, is seeking a highly motivated and creative scientist to join our innovation efforts as a Principal Chemical Engineer within the Global Micro-E RD&E team based in Naperville, IL. In this role, you will be responsible for driving projects, executing experiments to enable new product and platform development in partnership with Marketing and the Sales Team. We are seeking candidates who have a desire for collaboration and teamwork, are self-motivated, have good communication skills, and are creative problem solvers. This position represents a unique opportunity for a creative scientist to help develop differentiated products that solve difficult problems for our Microelectronics customers.
What you will do:
Develop innovative chemistries, processes, equipment, and technologies for the Microelectronics Industry, with special emphasis on process water and wastewater treatment.
Engage with customers, sales engineers, and marketing functions to translate industry challenges into research platforms.
Collaborate with other researchers and field technical consultants to deploy new innovations in field applications
Lead projects from ideation and prospecting through final validation and commercialization in collaboration with functions across the organization, including Marketing, Industry Technical Consultants, Sales, and Supply Chain.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education
A PhD Degree in Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline, and Industrial Research & Development experience; or
An MS Degree in Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline, and 3 years of Industrial Research & Development experience
Ability to travel (domestic) up to 20%

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience developing innovative chemical technologies for process and wastewater in the Microelectronics Industry.
Experience working independently as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team of researchers
Experience with equipment development for water or wastewater treatment
Experience working with membrane systems and contaminant removal, including laboratory performance evaluation and application in industrial settings.
Annual or Hourly Compensation Range
The pay range for this position is $98,600.00 - $148,000.00. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.Benefits
