Main responsibility areas

Manage tasks, activities and/or projects to deliver new or improved medical products. Activities and/or projects are typically complex.

Participate in project teams as Technical Lead, or Project Manager as assigned to deliver new of improved Medical products.

Research products and technologies new to Ahlstrom using means such as literature search, competitive intelligence and patent research and others.

Assess and evaluate technical ideas and novel technologies for benefits and feasibility.

Plan, coordinate and conduct lab and pilot studies independently. Conduct or coordinate evaluation and testing and interpret results using rigorous scientific discipline (DOE, FMEA, APQP, etc).

Prepare or participate in preparing project timelines and budgets.

Properly document, record, and publish results and conclusions.

Participate in team meetings, BA meetings and customer meetings in support of projects and initiatives.

Contribute to nonroutine problem solutions related to product development efforts (raw materials, equipment, development, evaluation). Hazardous raw materials may occasionally be encountered.

Generate innovative ideas. Prepare invention disclosures, and patent applications to protect intellectual property.

Ensure compliance with all applicable Safety, Environmental, GMP, FDA Quality and other policies, practices and regulations.

Travel internationally and domestically as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Textile or polymer science

M.Tech in Textile

Experience

B.S. with at least 5 years of experience, M.S. with two years of industrial experience or PhD. degrees preferably in: chemistry, chemical engineering, polymer science, paper, nonwovens or textile technology

Technical experience in at least one area related to polymer/ fiber science or chemistry is preferred.

Time management tools understanding, Manpower management, leadership qualities.
