Job Title: Lab Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to perform chemistry-based testing on a daily basis. This role involves conducting monograph testing, heavy metals testing, environmental testing, and other related analyses. You will support chemists and technicians with various test methods, document daily lab data accurately, and maintain lab equipment and stations.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily chemistry-based testing including monograph, heavy metals, and environmental testing.
- Assist chemists and technicians with various test methods as needed.
- Document daily lab data and complete relevant documents accurately.
- Clean and prepare lab equipment and workstations daily.
Essential Skills
- Degree in Chemistry or experience in chemistry-based testing.
- Experience with environmental testing, metals testing, or using ICP, ICP-MS, or AA.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a chemistry lab setting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Background in Biology, Chemistry, or Environmental Science.
- Experience with Biochemical Oxygen Demand, titration, wet chemistry, atomic absorption, ICP, and ICP-MS.
Work Environment
This position is based in a contract laboratory. You will primarily work in the office, but will occasionally need to be in lab areas to receive samples. This is a first-shift job with flexible start times between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m., working 40 to 45 hours per week. Overtime may be available based on performance. The schedule is typically Sunday through Thursday, with the possibility of Monday through Friday if Sunday work is not required. You must be able to work Sundays when needed due to client requirements. The environment is fast-paced and can become hectic, requiring composure and effective communication with colleagues, sample couriers, and clients primarily via email and phone. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
