Nissha Medical Technologies is hiring an experienced injection molding Process Engineer supporting injection molding process development, product design, and mold tooling design. The ideal candidate possesses and applies a broad knowledge of scientific molding principles, practices, and procedures to the completion of challenging assignments. Injection molding, mold tooling, molding process development, process validation, and process troubleshooting skills are required. This position works under limited supervision and broad responsibility and performs process engineering work that is often challenging. Evaluation, originality, ingenuity, and initiative are required. Reports to Engineering Manager or Project Team Leader.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Leads injection molding process development activities as assigned
  • Performs and documents injection molding process development, process characterization, process validation (IQ, OQ, and PQ), and process trouble shooting
  • Participates in material selection, design reviews, and processing equipment selection.
  • Actively collaborates with multiple project teams, including conference calls, while representing company to the customer
  • Writes protocols and reports, documenting activities and results
  • May lead injection molding focused projects or continuous improvement efforts
  • Evaluates process results against manufacturing requirements
  • Uses tools such as microscope, calipers, gauge pins, and micrometers to evaluate molded parts
  • Coordinates and schedules process activities with Engineering and Production teams
  • Creates production work instructions and trains production personnel on new processes and procedures.
  • May design and/or document fixtures, tooling, and automation as needed
  • Performs or supports molding set-ups and troubleshooting
  • Follows Employee guidelines and Quality System Regulations as defined by Nissha Medical Technologies practices, policies and Standard Operating Procedures to ensure that customer requirements and industry standards and or regulations are met
  • Demonstrates knowledge and acts in accordance with NMTs Employee Guidelines and applicable quality standards as outlined in NMTs Quality Manual
  • Takes on other responsibilities as assigned
  • Abides by all safety and security rules set forth by the company and regulatory agencies
  • Regular attendance is required
  • Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering
  • Bachelors Degree in Plastics Processing or related degree (preferred)
  • Advanced degree in Engineering (preferred)
  • 5+ years hands-on experience in plastic injection molding, including: molding process development and troubleshooting. (2+ years with advanced degree)
  • Experience designing, documenting, and conducting engineering studies, protocols, and reports
  • Experienced in statistical analysis, DOEs, and process capability statistics.
  • Strong problem solving skills and efficient management of time and resources
  • Experience operating and setting up a variety of injection molding equipment and tooling
  • Strong knowledge of common plastic material processing requirements and properties
  • Experience with overmolding and two shot molding (preferred)
  • Familiarity with mold flow analysis and Gauge R&R studies (preferred)
  • Experience working in a medical device manufacturing environment (preferred)
  • Experience authoring and executing medical device process validation activities (preferred)
  • Knowledge of additive manufacturing processes and/or extrusion (preferred)
  • Experience designing manufacturing fixtures, tools, end of arm tools, and/or equipment using Solidworks or similar software (preferred)
  • Ability to plan activities, work independently and complete work on schedule
  • Ability to interpret drawing requirements, including GD&T
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work in a global team environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Efficient management of time and resources
  • Ability to work effectively with customers and suppliers
Nissha Medical Technologies is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay rate for this position is $85,000-$110,000 annually (USD) paid on a bi-weekly basis. The successful candidates particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
