Position Overview:

The process engineer will be responsible for plant processing and engineering activities, capital projects, continuous quality improvement and maintaining HS&E programs.

What you will be doing:

  • Ensure that the plant operates with health, safety and the environment as the top priority
  • Solve day to day production problems
  • Develop and implement process improvement ideas
  • Develop and implement plant capital projects, assist Unit manager in preparing capital budgets.
  • Write, revise, and update operation procedures. Train operators as applicable.
  • Evaluate and improve process yields and plant reliability.
  • Reconcile raw and finished product inventory.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities
  • Develop and implement PSM program
  • Assist Unit Manager in planning and monitoring production
  • Coordinate work with outside contractors
  • Participate in plant wide HSES, quality and productivity initiatives
  • Support plant production efficiency improvement programs.
  • Train employees on HS&E topics
  • Audit ISO 9001:2000 system
  • Develop, implement and maintain HS&E systems
  • Ensure that the MOC proc ess is followed from initiation to completion for changes in the plant

Required Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Chemical Engineering
  • 2-5 years in chemical manufacturing industry
  • Good written and oral communication
  • Computer skills such as Microsoft Office
  • Good problem solving ability

Training/Certification/Registration:

  • ISO 9001:2000
  • Six Sigma quality improvement
