The Amazon Air Network Control Center (AANCC) Network Solutions & Analytics (NSA) team is seeking a Software Development Engineer to join our dynamic group of technical problem solvers. Our team builds mission-critical applications that enable data-driven decision making for one of Amazon's fastest-growing operations. We're looking for someone who can help us move beyond just consuming data to creating and managing our own datasets, while maintaining our ability to rapidly prototype and deliver solutions.
The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment where ownership and speed are critical success factors. You'll work closely with Program Managers and Business Analysts to quickly translate operational needs into technical solutions. This role requires someone who can balance technical excellence with practical delivery, making smart trade-offs to ensure we're building the right solutions at the right time.
Key job responsibilities
Be part of an elite technical team within Amazon Air's Network Control Center (AANCC) that architects, develops, and maintains mission-critical applications supporting Amazon's rapidly growing and dynamic air cargo network. Our team manages the full development lifecycle while leveraging modern AWS services and development practices.
Eligibility requirement
- Individuals hired into this position will have unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA). For this reason, eligibility for this role will be limited to individuals who pass a security screening, as required by the FAA, DHS, and TSA (as applicable).
- Must be able to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges, if applicable.
- Amazon does not sponsor for immigration, including for H-1B, TN, and other non-immigrant visas, for this role.

- This position requires an employees full and unimpaired skills and judgment to safely execute their job duties to ensure the safety and security of Amazon Air personnel, third-party contractors, Airport personnel, cargo, and equipment. - 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Master's degree or equivalent
- Experience with AWS services, particularly in server-less architectures (e.g., Lambda, API Gateway)
- Experience with AWS CDK for infrastructure as code

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
