ASARCO (American Smelting and Refining Company), the U.S.-based subsidiary of Grupo Mexico, is an integrated copper mining, smelting, and refining company with approximately 1,400 employees. Grupo Mexico is a transnational mining company with operations in the U.S., Mexico, Spain, and Peru.

We are creating accelerated-growth Development programs for Engineering undergraduates who are looking to develop a long-term career plan in ASARCO Grupo Mexico. Our Development program is tailored for Mining, Mechanical & Metallurgical engineers who will be able to choose between two career paths: Operational Leadership and Technical Leadership.

About the role:

Rotational program to gain diverse experience in the operational function (Concentrator, LSXEW) and the technical portion in the lab

Operations Rotation - Will supervise a workgroup (Milling, Flotation, LSXEW), and then other operations supervisors, with the goal to join plant management

Technical Rotation - Will become an expert in ore types and be responsible for evaluating process data, metallurgical testing, and continuous process improvement on the milling, flotation, or the SXEW plant

Will develop and implement optimization and cost reduction strategies

Conduct metallurgical accounting for the plants

Other duties as assigned

Education & Skill Requirements:

Bachelor of Science in Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering

Strong leadership skills and ability to manage teams

Must be able to work with minimal supervision and have strong organizational and time management skills

Must have excellent computer skills with the ability to learn technical software

Experience Required:No previous experience is required
