Senior Associate Scientist for Confocal Imaging - Contract role

Position Overview:

Prellis Biologics uses proprietary technology to 3D print lymph node organoids, which we are using to generate in vitro antibody libraries and invitro human lymph node cocultures for generating antigen-specific B-cells. We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Associate Scientist with strong expertise in 3D confocal imaging to join our team on a contract basis. In this role, the individual will be supporting our microscopy efforts of capturing the complex cellular interactions that occur within our artificial lymph node organoids. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cell biology and experience in the staining, imaging, and analysis of biological samples, particularly in complex 3D tissue structures.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Routinely handle mammalian cell cultures and perform high-quality immunofluorescence staining on biological tissues and samples
  • Independently acquire and process 3D confocal images using advanced imaging systems at partner locations
  • Conduct quantitative image analysis and present data in a clear, organized manner
  • Experience in preparing tissue samples through embedding and cryosectioning is a plus
  • Experience in flow cytometry staining and data acquisition on a flow cytometer is a plus
  • Maintain detailed, accurate, and timely documentation of all experiments in electronic lab notebooks (ELN)
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support project goals
  • Contribute to data interpretation and troubleshooting efforts as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • M.S. in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field
  • 2-3 years of hands-on experience in 3D confocal imaging and immunofluorescence staining, ideally on Nikon or Zeiss confocal systems
  • Proficient in image analysis software (e.g., ImageJ/Fiji, Imaris, or similar)
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a laboratory setting
  • Familiarity with tissue embedding and cryosectioning is preferred but not required
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well both independently and in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
  • Proactive, collaborative, and adaptable in a dynamic research setting.
