The role combines clinical informatics, data engineering, and machine learning for real-world precision medicine. Responsible for translating multimodal data-including PACS imaging, EMRs, physician notes, and optionally molecular assays-into unified structured datasets and for building prognostic and progression-free survival (PFS) models from these datasets to advance cancer treatment personalization. Data Integration & Engineering: Build and maintain robust pipelines that ingest and harmonize multimodal data (DICOM imaging, EMR, pathology, molecular/omics data, and free-text clinical notes). Work across HL7, FHIR, DICOM, and unstructured text formats to enable a comprehensive longitudinal patient view. Apply NLP or LLM tools to extract structured information from freeform physician notes, pathology reports, and radiology impressions. Collaborate with solution architects and engineers to ensure AI-readiness and scalability of the data infrastructure. AI Modeling & Analytics: Develop and validate AI/ML models for: Progression-Free Survival (PFS) estimation Overall survival prediction Prognostic classification and risk stratification Use classical survival analysis (e.g., Kaplan-Meier, Cox models) as well as modern ML approaches (e.g., DeepSurv, time-to-event modeling, random survival forests). Perform feature engineering across clinical, imaging, and molecular features. Lead the data science component of retrospective and prospective studies in collaboration with clinicians and statisticians. Collaboration & Strategy: Partner with oncologists, nuclear medicine physicians, and radiologists to define clinically meaningful endpoints and labels.
