This position is part of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency. The incumbent will be responsible for serving as a project manager who establishes and implements top level strategy, objectives, and performance measures for assigned projects, prioritizes work, and determines funding needs and allocation to include the requirement to manage spend plan activities, review requirements, coordinate A&AS support, coordinate with DoD requirements managers, and review contract actions. .You may qualify at the GS-15, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service:
  • Extensive experience in analysis of trends, gaps, systems as well as strategy and long-range plan development and implementation.
  • Extensive experience in briefing and providing recommendations to senior leaders, and in initiating, leading, and representing your organization at international, interagency, or DoD fora.
  • Knowledge and extensive experience in the initiation, planning, technical direction and management, and fiscal control of procurement, operations and maintenance, or research and development efforts comprised of multiple complex projects executed by multiple performers.
  • Extensive experience in providing direction and managing contractors' performance in accordance with contractual quality assurance and funding expenditure requirements.
  • Extensive experience in forming and leading teams of technical or operational personnel, and experience in nuclear/chemical explosion or earthquake monitoring and detection technologies, modeling and simulation, and artificial intelligence / machine language.
You may qualify at the GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service:
  • Experience in briefing and providing recommendations to senior leaders, and in participating in international, interagency, or DoD fora.
  • Knowledge and experience in project planning, acquisition, and project management of a procurement, operations and maintenance, or, research and development portfolio comprised of several projects executed by several performers.
  • Experience in providing direction and managing contractors' performance in accordance with contractual quality assurance and funding expenditure requirements.
  • Experience in leading teams of technical or operational personnel, and experience in nuclear/chemical explosion or earthquake monitoring and detection technologies, modeling and simulation, and artificial intelligence / machine language.
In addition to meeting qualifications, your application package must reflect the applicable experience to meet the Individual Occupational Requirements for the 1301 series.
  1. Degree: physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics.

    or

  2. Combination of education and experience -- education equivalent to one of the majors shown in A above that included at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
*NOTE: Failure to provide transcripts will result in you being rated ineligible for this position.Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
