Title Senior Material Development Engineer Description

Manage Advanced Material Development projects related to polymer/plastics, paint/coating, adhesive, and composites, for automotive and other industrial applications. Maintain awareness of new material and technology developments by networking with suppliers, attending conferences, trade journals, etc. Identify and initiate new materials, technologies, products and applications. Conduct preliminary business case studies. Propose projects based upon Intevas needs, risk, business case, etc. Create project plan (timing, budget, resources, etc.) and manage projects. Conduct project reviews according to development process and plan. Travel is required both domestically and internationally to support the business, normally about 10% during deployments, although this is an estimation and may increase or decrease depending on the needs of the business.

Position Requirements

Required :

  • 5+ years Experience in polymer/plastics, paint/coating, adhesive, composites, and applications
  • Knowledge and experience with polymer synthetic, modification, compounding, and plastics production
  • Experience in working with suppliers and customers
  • Problem solving in polymer materials, manufacturing and applications
  • Knowledge and experience in material characterization and performance testing
  • Project management skills must be able to handle complex projects
  • Strong computer skills, self-starter, and strong communication skills

Preferred :

  • Strong in Design of Experiment and statistics analysis.
  • Experience / knowledge in plastic compounds design and manufacturing
  • Knowledge and experience in automotive and other polymer/plastic industries
  • Familiar with Six Sigma, Design for Six Sigma, and Robust Engineering
  • Experience in polyurethane systems and processing is a plus
