- Receive, examine, and log inbound samples for testing.
- Deliver test samples to the sample staging area.
- Monitor the availability of supplies needed for testing and report needs to the Laboratory Manager.
- Perform testing of samples and quality control specimens using specified methodologies after demonstrating proficiency.
- Review results against specifications and known expectations and may issue analyses to clients.
- Prepare samples, quality control specimens, reagents, and solutions, and calibrate equipment needed for testing processes.
- Verify and communicate results, making appropriate entries into instrument logs, control charts, calibration records, and laboratory worksheets.
- Maintain documentation, equipment, and work areas in a neat, orderly, and safe condition.
- Assist in training less experienced employees once sufficient proficiency is demonstrated.
- Carry out responsibilities in adherence to company policies and procedures, exercising good judgment and diplomacy.
- Experience in a lab environment
- Knowledge of Chemistry and analytical chemistry
- Proficiency with analytical instruments like GC and ICP
- High school education or equivalent is required for Laboratory Technicians, with an advantage of petroleum testing experience or formal chemistry education.
- Two years of relevant experience is required for technicians to perform U.S. Customs related testing.
- A chemistry-related Bachelors degree is required for Laboratory Analysts - Chemists.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
