Postdoctoral Fellow - CNS - Radiation Oncology Research (Schrank Lab)
- The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center
- Houston, Texas
- Full Time
Multiple postdoctoral fellow positions are available in the laboratory of Dr. Benjamin Schrank in the Department of Radiation Oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
The Schrank Lab investigates how genome instability, especially extrachromosomal DNA (ecDNA), interacts with the tumor microenvironment to shape immune evasion and drug resistance. We engineer immunostimulatory antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) and dissect innate DNA-sensing pathways to convert "cold" tumors into immunotherapy-responsive diseases. Our expertise spans neuroscience, cancer immunology, DNA repair, cancer biology, transgenic and preclinical animal models, and translational research.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
The Postdoctoral Fellow will conduct experiments, perform data analysis, and prepare manuscripts in addition to attending lab meetings, journal clubs, and research seminars. The Postdoctoral Fellow's primary research focus is to integrate mechanistic discoveries with translational objectives to address unmet clinical needs in cancer therapy. The Postdoctoral Fellow will develop skills in study design, R/Python analysis pipelines, scientific writing, and grantsmanship.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
PhD in biomedical engineering, immunology, molecular biology, biochemistry, cancer biology, or a related field.
Job-Specific Competencies:
Strong background and working knowledge in immunology, biochemistry, molecular biology, and cancer biology.
Expertise in flow cytometry, biochemistry, and animal models is strongly preferred.
Initiative, curiosity, teamwork, and a translational mindset.
POSITION INFORMATION
MD Anderson offers full-time postdoc positions with a salary ranging from $64,000 to $76,000 . depending on the number of years of postgraduate experience.
