I. POSITION OBJECTIVE

The Process Engineer assist in improvement projects, process de-bottleneck study/upgrades, data review, and operational objectives. This position is also responsible for achieving the goals on production, capital report and cost reports as well as completing the detail design engineering work with EC and/or Engineering Company. All while sustaining a safe and healthful working environment that meets environmental, health, and safety regulations and company requirements.

II. MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

Project Execution and Management: Assist in implementing of improvement and value creation projects for Ethylene Glycol Division to help the unit meets best industry practices. Coordinate process engineering activities with technology licenser, design, unit operation, procurement, maintenance, and quality control to obtain optimum operation.

Operations Support: Develop and implement process design/improvement to eliminate process problems and improve operational efficiency. Communicate with other departments within the Ethylene Glycol Division to ensure collaboration occurs, leading to smoother operation. Follow up with any recommendations from abnormal reports and ensure all incident reports are investigated properly.

PSM Compliance: Assist with units to comply with all 14 elements of PSM and establish program for organizing documents are available at all times for Audits and internal review. Collaborate with management department to conduct all internal and 3rd party audits for EGs/CFB unit.

Leadership and Staff Development: Coordinate with unit maintenance to establish equipment inspection cycles based on the execution result of RBI implementation. Review the equipment abnormal report to develop the prevention or solutions for operators/supervisors/staffs/engineer to strive for excellence and professionalism.

III. QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education:

  • B.S. Degree in Chemical Engineering required; other related engineering disciplines considered.

  • Previous Related Experience Required:

  • No prior experience is required, but 3 years of petrochemical plant design or operation experience is preferred. (EO/EG plant preferred)

  • Technical Skills Required To Perform This Job

  • Understanding of the concepts of heat transfer, mass transfer, kinetics, thermodynamics, fluid statics and dynamics, plant operation, column distillation, plant economics, material balance, DCS interface.

  • Ability to train and learn.

  • Willingness to take over responsibility in the assigned process areas and tasks.
