Research & Lab Technician - Polymers, Coatings, and Adhesives

Pay Rate: $23/hour on W2

Contract Length: 12 months

Location: Charlotte, NC 28273 (Onsite)

Raise is currently hiring a Research & Lab Technician - Polymers, Coatings, and Adhesives on behalf of our client. They're expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.

Research Technician (Polymer Development) - creating and analyzing new polymer materials in the lab.

Lab Technician (Coatings & Adhesives Performance Testing) - testing and evaluating coatings and adhesives in real-world conditions.

Responsibilities

Polymer Development (Maker):

Operate laboratory-scale emulsion polymerization reactors to produce new polymer samples,

Follow detailed formulations to safely synthesize materials.

Measure material properties using viscometers, particle size analyzers, rheometers, and other instruments.

Maintain lab equipment, ensure a clean and safe work environment, and accurately record all data

Coatings & Adhesives Testing (Tester):

Prepare, paint, and mount test boards for coatings and adhesives evaluation.

Conduct mechanical performance testing, stability analysis, and wet-state analytics.

Evaluate samples for changes in color, gloss, and durability in both indoor and outdoor environments.

Use tools (sander, drill, carts) and operate an ATV to transport materials to a test fence for long-term weather testing

Shared Duties:

Handle hazardous chemicals and operate lab instruments safely.

Perform accurate data entry, prepare reports, and communicate results with the team.

Adapt to changing priorities while working independently and collaboratively

Qualifications

At least 1 year of general lab experience (chemical or product testing).

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related sciences OR Associate's degree plus 6 months to 1 year of relevant lab experience OR High school diploma and 1 year of relevant experience required.

Strong attention to detail, integrity, and accuracy.

Comfortable working both indoors in a lab setting and outdoors in varied weather conditions.

Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email).

Ability to lift, stand, walk, and handle light-to-moderate physical tasks.
