We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual to work as a full-time pre-doctoral research associate for a period of one year. This position is ideal for those who plan to apply for a Ph.D. in finance, economics or related fields. It offers the opportunity to gain exposure to and training in all stages of the research process. The start date is negotiable. Your work will be supervised by Carnegie Mellon University Professor Matthew Denes.
Core responsibilities will include:

Obtain and manipulate data from various sources

Construct and analyze data using statistical software packages

Assist with the production of working papers and publications

Other duties as assigned

You should demonstrate:

Be able to work independently to solve problems

Ability to work with statistics software, such as Stata

Familiarity with programming languages, such as Python
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, statistics, computer science, mathematics or related field required

0-1 year of research experience required

A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
