Position Information

The Postdoctoral Research Associate in Entomology will contribute to research conducted by the Texas A&M AgriLife Research Center at Weslaco and the Texas A&M Entomology Department. May mentor students, write grant proposals, and present research at conferences.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to research conducted by the Texas A&M AgriLife Research Center at Weslaco and the Texas A&M Entomology Department

  • Design and execute experiments, analyze data, and interpret results.

  • Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at professional meetings.

  • Assist in writing grant proposals to secure external funding.

  • Oversee and manage laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.

  • Mentor and provide guidance to graduate and undergraduate students in the lab.

  • Collaborate with internal and external researchers to advance project objectives.

  • Other duties as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Crop Protection, Entomology, Ecology, Biology, or a related scientific discipline.

  • Good communication, computer, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong publication record in relevant scientific journals.

  • Experience in writing grant proposals and securing research funding.

  • Ability to present research at professional conferences and meetings.

  • Proficiency in experimental design, statistical analysis, and data interpretation.

  • Strong organizational and leadership skills to manage laboratory activities.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

What You Need to Know

Salary: Compensation for this position is commensurate based on the selected candidate's qualifications.

Funding: This position is funded for a one-year appointment (9/1/2025 - 8/31/2026), contingent on availability of funding and satisfactory job performance.
