Job Title: QC Chemist
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled QC Chemist to perform wet chemistry testing on raw materials. The role involves testing IR Spectroscopy, Melting point temperature, and viscosity, following USP methodology. You will be responsible for conducting various tests on raw materials, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform raw material testing on APIs and excipients.
- Perform wet chemistry testing including FTIR spectroscopy, spectroscopic identification testing, melting point temperature, Karl Fischer, viscosity, etc.
- Utilize instrumentation and equipment including Refractometer, Densitometer, pH meter, Auto-titrator, UV-VIS Spectrophotometer, and FTIR.
- Prep reagents and solutions for testing.
- Document test results using electronic notebooks.
- Assist with sending out samples to 3rd party labs for testing.
- Follow GMPs, USP methodology, FDA, and company policies and procedures.
Essential Skills
- Bachelors degree in Chemistry.
- 2-3 years of experience in a GMP/regulated laboratory performing wet chemistry testing.
- Must have experience with raw material testing.
- Proficiency in IR Spectroscopy, Melting point temperature, and viscosity testing.
- Experience with USP methodology is preferred; open to experience with other methodology such as ASTM, AOCS, etc.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00/hr.
