A Software Development Engineer with AWS Ground Station supports the development and delivery of key features as we innovate for our customers. On our team you will use your expertise to:

Key job responsibilities
Software development engineer positions require a depth and breadth of knowledge in design and development, experience with agile methodologies, proficiency in a high-level language, experience with low level development, and experience building highly scalable systems involving distributed services. You will own the design of major deliverable and have opportunities to build them from scratch. This is a high visibility and fast-paced environment where you will make a direct impact on the customer experience and the bottom line of the company. As an ideal candidate, you:

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3 years experience with modern C++ or Rust in systems or embedded contexts
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience developing hardware-accelerated, realtime data processing software (SIMD, GPU, FPGA) in areas such as packet inspection, transcoding, software-defined radio, or reliable data delivery.
- Experience with satellite communications and/or ground station operations
- Digital signal processing (DSP) experience in RF or other analog domains

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
