Chemist Job Type: W2 Contract Location: Peoria, IL (On-site) Schedule: 7am - 3:30pm CST Pay Rate: Starting at $24/hour with benefits including PTO and medical insurance Position Contributions to Work Group: Creates quality, timely data used by customers to make equipment management decisions. Directly supports customers and enhances customer loyalty. Task Breakdown: Analyze approximately 850-1400 samples following quality control procedures. Operate and maintain multiple instruments. Review and report data. Log sample information into LIMS. Work on feet for 8 hours and lift 35 pounds periodically. Must pass physical screening for respirator training. Team Interaction: Collaborate with other technicians to complete sample testing. Attend team meetings and shift handoffs. Provide and receive station updates. Work Environment: Laboratory setting providing fluid analysis services. Steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and lab coat provided. Education & Experience: High School Diploma or GED required. 3 years of manufacturing/factory/operations experience or 3 years of lab experience (e.g., pharmaceutical tech). Technical Skills Required: Ability to lift at least 35 pounds. Understanding of good laboratory practices. Strong computer skills. Desired: Familiarity with ICP, FTIR, and GC practices. Experience with Microsoft 365. Soft Skills Required: Works well in a team environment. Strong oral and written communication skills. Effective multitasking and time management. Desired: Problem-solving skills. Well-organized. Safety-driven.
