Our client, a leader in environmental management, is seeking a Hazardous Waste Process Planning Chemist to join their team. As a Hazardous Waste Process Planning Chemist, you will be part of the materials department supporting the operational team. The ideal candidate will have strong team collaboration skills, excellent communication abilities, and effective time management skills which will align successfully in the organization.

What's the Job?

  • Prepare specific written burn plans by providing hazardous waste type, special instructions heating, and chlorine values for all drum waste.
  • Provide specific instructions to hourly personnel for proper and safe handling of solid changes to ensure proper incineration.
  • Maintain and update the reactive database and all profiles to composition, handling, incineration, etc., to ensure and expedite appropriate burn requirements.
  • Work with operational personnel to determine the most preferred method of handling various waste streams.
  • Prepare a variety of weekly and monthly reports to ensure that existing process burn plans are effective and efficient.

What's Needed?

  • BS in Chemistry or related discipline required.
  • Prior work experience of 2-4 years in the hazardous waste industry preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge in processing methodologies.
  • Strong computer skills and customer orientation.
  • Ability to effectively present information.
