The Environmental Scientist is responsible for conducting research, analyzing, and addressing environmental issues while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. This position demands attention to detail with various environmental skills, including wetland delineation, water quality monitoring, and the identification of flora and fauna. The Environmental Scientist should be knowledgeable with species survey protocols, qualitative and quantitative monitoring methodologies, and functional assessments and have strong oral and written communication skills.

Description CPH is seeking an Environmental Scientist with entry-level experience and/or a recent graduate of bachelor-level program in environmental science or related studies with related intern or professional experience work experience with research, qualitative/quantitative analysis/methodology, flora/fauna, and/or wetland delineation.- What We Are Seeking -

Core Responsibilities: - Primary Job Duties -
- Skilled in wetland delineation, including identifying hydric soils and plant species identification.
- Experienced in water quality monitoring procedures, QAQC and analysis of results.
- Physically capable of performing fieldwork under diverse weather conditions and environmental settings.
- Experienced in supporting engineers and scientists with routine environmental issues.
- Able to provide a draft work product to supervisor that was prepared using sound professional judgement.
- Skilled in generating standard work products requiring minimal feedback or revisions.
- Evaluates, selects, and applies standard techniques, procedures and criteria using judgement and knowledge of principles and techniques in making minor adaptations and modifications to the work product.
- Able to identify when additional help is required and proactively seek assistance.
- Able to work under supervision, receiving instruction on specific assignment objectives, standard permitting projects and propose possible solutions.
- Demonstrates accountability by adhering to project scopes, staying within budget and reporting any issues to the supervisor.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements: - Required Skills, Experience, & Education -
- Knowledgeable in environmental regulations and best practices.
- Fieldwork with a variety of weather and terrain.
- Excellent oral, written, and organizational skills, and ability to maintain schedules and meet project deadlines.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work cross-functionally in a team environment.
- Familiar with the architecture and engineering industry.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Assist with administrative duties and needed.
- Entry Level position with 1-5 years' experience
- Bachelor Degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology and other related fields.
- Certifications in environmental consulting preferred but not required
