What You Will Do:

  • Working with cross-functional teams, delivering engineering support for the manufacturing plant and capital investment projects throughout the entire project life cycle
  • Lead various cost savings projects/initiatives to deliver conversion cost targets.
  • Provide daily tactical support for the production unit.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to unlock throughput and employee engagement.
  • Participate on the plant environmental/compliance team and support safety initiatives as appropriate.
  • Ownership of cycle time data accuracy and improvement/reduction.
  • Troubleshoot problems and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Strive to constantly improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards.
  • Perform RCA on internal and external quality findings to implement corrective action plans.
  • Manage Product Set-Ups and Scale Ups from R&D and Marketing.
  • Design and implement solutions to close PHA and RCA gaps
  • Ensure all assets and processes are well designed and fit the business purpose
  • Coordinate and interact with suppliers and plant staff for installation, commissioning, and post commissioning activities
  • Ensure that quality projects are delivered on-time at competitive cost.
  • Participates in plant PHAs.
  • Implement changes following the Management of Change process.
  • Update plant procedures as required.
  • Actively coaches, trains, and mentors junior engineers, co-ops and associates.
  • Conducts Root Cause investigations of process and safety incidents.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering
  • Experience in a technical role in an operational environment
  • Excellent written, oral, and visual communication skills to communicate effectively with all levels and teams of the organization, our customers and third parties
  • Must be comfortable working on individual projects as well as participating in a team across various functions to deliver results on tight timelines
  • Excellent problem solving and organizational skills
  • Minimum 3 years of industry experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of industry experience in PSM design
  • Working knowledge of Safety Instrumented Systems
  • SAP, PSM, and PHA experience
  • Knowledge of OSHA and NFPA requirements
  • Ability to motivate, direct and communicate with engineers, production and crafts personnel
  • Ability to read, understand and create technical drawings such as PFDs, P&IDs, isometric drawings, and loop diagrams
  • Knowledge and experience of relevant Safety, Health and Environmental regulations
  • Project management and contractor management experience
  • Strong grasp of Management of Change processes
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent mathematics and IT skills
  • Understand batch manufacturing processes
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
  • Knowledge of PSM, EPA, TCEQ and DOT regulations
