Remote work options in the US may be considered on a case-by-case basis and if approved by the Company.
The Senior Distinguished Scientist is a visionary leader who will join our In Silico Drug Discovery team to spearhead the creation of innovative tools that fuel a better understanding of how drug candidates will behave in vivo and in humans. As a Senior Distinguished Scientist, you will partner with core functions to pioneer computational strategies that integrate diverse data from the clinic, preclinical studies, and cellular omics data with state-of-the-art modeling in order to aid in the selection and design of molecules. Your work will be instrumental in transforming our approach into a computationally driven, prediction-first discovery engine-propelling breakthrough therapeutic innovations from concept to clinical impact while reducing timelines and in vivo resources and increasing success rates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Innovative Predictive Modeling: Develop and implement advanced platforms that integrate in vitro, in vivo (animal and clinical?), and molecular data to generate robust hypotheses and simulate biological processes.
- Platform Integration & Tool Development: Leverage cutting-edge foundation models to enhance and streamline assay development, translational biology, and safety predictions. Lead the creation of tools that correlate biological insights across molecular, cellular, and organismal scales.
- Data-Driven Discovery: Oversee efforts to generate and integrate diverse data streams-from patient records and biosignatures to preclinical studies and the literature-to uncover critical insights that drive therapeutic breakthroughs.
- Strategic Vision & Leadership: Define and implement a transformative roadmap in vitro / in vivo correlations to predict translational and human outcomes. Lead across scientific domains and functions; partner with teams and other functional leaders.
- Therapeutic Innovation & Collaboration: Champion novel approaches to therapeutic hypothesis generation and modality selection, partnering with data science, translational, and development teams to accelerate the journey from discovery through development.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: PhD in Computational Drug Discovery, Computational Biology, Biomedical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: 10-12+ years in computational technology development and drug discovery and development, with demonstrated expertise in applying AI/ML to drive program progression. Knowledge of CMC and Regulatory requirements is a plus.
- Leadership & Collaboration: Exceptional communication skills and experience working in cross-functional, matrixed environments. Proven ability to manage strategic initiatives and lead high-performing teams.
- Technical Expertise: Familiarity with diverse modalities including biologics, small molecules, peptides, antibody drug conjugates, and targeted protein degraders.
- Travel: Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to approximately 25%.
