We are searching for the best talent for an Experienced Scientist, Cell Therapy to be in South San Francisco, CA.
Purpose:
Are you an independent and highly motivated scientist with experience in cell therapy? If so, then we are actively recruiting a talented individual to support us in these areas. We are a critical part of Therapeutics Discovery, responsible for the identification and characterization of novel CAR T cell therapies. Within the Cell and Genomic Medicine Group, our group utilizes high-throughput screening methods and analysis to characterize and develop cutting edge cell therapies. This position will contribute towards the development of a novel platform to generate and characterize CAR T cells for multiple tumor indications!
You will be responsible for:
Executing cell therapy projects with supervision from senior team members
Conduct hands-on laboratory work to evaluate CAR T cell libraries and clonal constructs in primary cells using a variety of in vitro assays such as transducing primary cells and evaluating T cell phenotype of selected constructs
Perform downstream functional assays including cytotoxicity assays and cytokine secretion assays
Execute pre-designed multicolor flow cytometry panels to interrogate cell typing and phenotypic response
Be responsible for lab management duties such as ordering reagents, performing preventative maintenance of key lab equipment, and ensuring compliance of safety standards
Analyze data and present results to team members and group leaders
Communicate regularly, transparently, and accurately within the department and to other collaborators as a key point of contact
Employ new workflow analytics and tools including automation to continually identify innovative chances for process improvement that would permit efficiency and acceleration
Able to manage time and elevate relevant issues to team members and group leadership
Qualifications/Requirements:
Minimum of a Bachelor's or Master's Degree within Biological Sciences or related field is required and a minimum of 2-4 years of hands-on cell culture experience
Proficiency with culturing mammalian cells, both primary and immortalized
Familiarity with cell therapy workflows: primary cell isolation, activation, transduction, and cryopreservation
Familiarity with immunostaining methods, flow cytometry, ELISA is a plus
Experience using data analysis tools such as FlowJo and GraphPad Prism is a plus
Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
Experience with team-based collaborations

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$103,000 to $165,600
Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis. Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance. This position is eligible to participate in the Company's long-term incentive program.
