Assistant/Associate/Full Scientist
Classification Minimum Requirements: M.D., Ph.D. or M.D/Ph.D. Job Description:The assignment will include, but will not be limited to:
- Performing original research, data analysis, and paper writing in independent and
collaborative fashion. - Developing and publishing abstracts/publications for the dissemination of data.
- Reading and analyzing relevant literature; contributing new ideas, actively engaging in
scientific discussion and providing expertise to inform discussion of new concepts. - Presenting data at scientific meetings; Preparing figures and other elements important
for grant submissions. - Be familiar and facile with techniques in cell culture, animal surgery,
immunofluorescence, flow cytometry, histology, PCR, spectroscopy, RNA extraction,
RNA sequencing, immunotherapy, T cell culture, collecting/interpreting data, statistics. - Performing experimental biological data analysis, including but not limited to flow
cytometry, qPCR, ELISA, animal imaging. - Attend all lab meetings and collaborative meetings with other labs. Ensure regulatory
compliance and approvals from regulatory agencies such as IACUC. - Manage purchasing of products/animals.
- Supervising and Teaching/Mentoring Junior Researchers These activities will include,
but will not be limited to:- Participate in one-on-one teaching and mentoring activities.
- Mentor and teach undergraduate students in scientific programs.
- Supervise visiting scholars and technologists who participate in relevant research
activities. - Contribute to managing a positive lab environment including the spirit of
collaboration and helping others.
Commensurate with experience
Required Qualifications: M.D., Ph.D. or M.D/Ph.D. Preferred: Experience of postdoctoral research
Expert experience in cancer biology
Special expertise in T cell biology basic research
Experience in immunotherapy
Ability to work well with a team
Ability to inspire students
Desire to maintain regulatory compliance
Professionalism and ability to communicate effectively while maintaining a joyful work
environment
