The Opportunity:
As a Post-doctoral scholar in the Wyrick Lab, a successful candidate will develop his/her own project investigating how DNA damage is formed and repaired in chromatin on a genome-wide scale. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and enjoy a collaborative atmosphere with the lab and the School of Molecular Biosciences.
Summary of Duties:
- Investigating how nucleosome positioning and histone modifications regulate the repair of DNA..
- Presenting the research through poster/oral presentation and peer-reviewed publication.
- Designing, carrying out, and troubleshooting experiments in the lab.
- Demonstrating commitment to promoting diversity in the workplace.
- Coordinate, manage, and maintain daily lab operations.
- Oversee quality control, make suggestions for improvement in techniques and interpretation.
- Supervise undergraduate/graduate students in the lab.
- Perform other duties as required.
Additional Information:
This is a full time (100 % FTE), temporary position. This position is overtime eligible .
Temporary End Date: This is a temporary position expected to end on October 31, 2026 . Renewal is dependent on the need for extension and/or if additional funding is secured to extend employment.
Annual Salary:
$55,000 - $65,000 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110 , the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:
- Earned PhD in a life sciences field.
