This recruitment offers a $3000 Recruitment Incentive to eligible new employees joining UW Medicine.
The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology has an outstanding opportunity for a Clinical Laboratory Technician 2 (CLT2) . In this role you will represent the Department of Laboratory Medicine and UW Medicine and play an important role in promoting our mission, values and goal of service excellence and patient safety. The CLT2 perform at a technical level, various routine laboratory testing and/ or prepare specimens or setup specimens for laboratory testing, and other laboratory work which supports the operation of a clinical laboratory.
Under general supervision, perform routine laboratory tests, demonstrate and train others in basic laboratory skills; verify the quality of reagents and media. And/ or is routinely assigned special projects that contribute to the development of new processes and procedures of the laboratory.

WORK SCHEDULE:
Wednesday through Saturday, 1:30pm to 12am
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of chemical, clinical, or public health laboratory experience.
Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Process patient, proficiency, and environmental specimens for analysis.
Perform patient and proficiency.
Utilize information management systems to accession, status, verify, and reject orders. Inputs test results using the laboratory information system.
Report critical values, STAT results, courtesy notifications, and routine results according to established protocols, insuring turn-around-times are consistently within guidelines and documentation is complete.
Perform and document routine quality control and preventative maintenance according to established protocols.
Assist in instruction and training of employees, post-doctoral fellows, residents, medical students, medical technology students, etc. Provides evaluation feedback in a timely manner.
Assist in the development and evaluation of new processes and/ or procedures and participates in improving current processes.
Provide care or other services based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and related criteria appropriate to the age of the patient.
Performs related duties as required.
